RNP Forum will discuss the transformation of society through innovation, collaboration and technology

- 22/05/2024

The event will take place from August 27 to 29 in Brasília and will be broadcast online

How are emerging technologies and new forms of collaboration shaping the future of education and society in general? To answer these and other questions, RNP (National Education and Research Network) will bring together a team of experts at the RNP Forum 2024, from August 27 to 29, in Brasília. As in the previous year, the event will be held in a hybrid format, with free online broadcasting of the main presentations. Click here to register.

Promoted annually by RNP to stimulate debate on the direction of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) addressing strategic issues for the national Science, Technology and Innovation (ST&I) system, the 13th RNP Forum will have lectures, panels, workshops and flashtalks, in addition to an area for business, with an exhibition of products and solutions.

“The RNP Forum has established itself as one of the main national events, which brings together the Government, academia and ICT companies, to discuss the challenges of public policies for the Health, Education, Culture, Environment, Research and Science ecosystem and how we can overcome them with the use of technologies and innovation. This year, as a new feature, in addition to discussing proposed solutions, we will be offering applied workshop sessions on applied methodologies and technologies, so that participants leave not only inspired, but also able to produce solutions using cutting-edge technologies”, highlights the event coordinator, Cláudio Silva.

The program includes references in leadership, new technologies, digital security, artificial intelligence and also brings “challenges with ICTs involving data, mobile networks, cloud computing with its various applications and impacts, with the need for new business models for sustainability. With several keynote speakers and specialized lecturers, we want to provoke reflection and for our community to be able to apply this knowledge to their daily lives, and impact our changing society”, says RNP’s Director of Services and Solutions, Antônio Carlos Fernandes Nunes.

Businessman José Salibi Neto, a reference in the area of leadership and one of those responsible for introducing contemporary management concepts to Brazil, will be one of the keynote speakers. He will present concepts of disruptive leadership, leading the audience to reflect on the role of leaders in an organization and how they contribute to changes in the workplace.

“My role is to transform complex ideas into simple and powerful ones. I intend to open people’s minds and present to the public the skills necessary for companies to grow sustainably in the coming years. The idea is to bring a new vision of leadership,” emphasizes Salibi.

One of the hot topics of the moment, artificial intelligence (AI), will also be discussed at the RNP Forum with the participation of Brazilian researcher Dora Kaufman, author of the book “Demystifying Artificial Intelligence”, in which she talks about innovation, regulation and the intersection between art, ethics and AI. Another highlight of the event will be the debate on the impact of 5G technology, as well as discussions on data management and open science projects.

“The RNP Forum 2024 promises to be a milestone at the intersection of innovation, collaboration and technology. The event will bring together thought leaders, innovators and professionals from diverse areas to explore how emerging technologies and new forms of collaboration are shaping the future of education and society as a whole. It is the ideal place for professionals, academics and students who seek to be at the forefront of technology and innovation”, explains Francisco Junior, content coordinator of the RNP Forum.

In another presentation, the Secretary of Strategic Policies and Programs of the MCTI, Márcia Barbosa, will show the paths that Brazil must follow to innovate and, at the same time, ensure sustainability. The theme of health is also part of the Forum, with the participation of the Secretary of Information and Digital Health of the Ministry of Health, Ana Estela Haddad, in the panel on the Digital SUS.

This year’s event will be hosted by Gino Terentim, an entrepreneur, innovation expert and TEDx speaker, among other major symposia. He previously held the position of general coordinator of project management at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI).
