11th edition of Encom brings together more than 400 in-person participants in Campinas
The 11th edition of the RNP Suppliers and Partners Meeting (Encom) brought together more than 440 in-person participants and 32 sponsors on March 12, in Campinas (SP). With the theme "Innovating to accelerate and connect", the event shared partnership opportunities in the organization's strategic projects, such as the Conecta e Capacita Program, which aims to build 18 state information highways, three National Data Centers and an e-Science network. The Program is part of the deliverables of the Federal Government's new Growth Acceleration Program (PAC).
The director-general of the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), Antônio José Roque da Silva, was the guest speaker and presented the project for the construction of Orion, a maximum biosafety laboratory that will be the first in Brazil to be connected to Sirius, a particle accelerator for research into medicines and vaccines. “Our relationship with laboratories around the world is essential,” said the director of CNPEM, referring to the global integration provided by the RNP connection.
Another highlight was the presence of the Secretary of Science and Technology for Social Development (SEDES) of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), Inácio Arruda, who is the president of the RNP Board of Directors, on a panel with the general director, Nelson Simões, who shared RNP's strategy for the next four years.
In the afternoon, the event had a pitch session for suppliers and partners on various topics of interest, such as the launch of the Ombudsman's Office, the new IT Architecture, cloud services, such as the National Data Centers (CNDs) and NasNuvens, the Security Operations Center (SOC), state and national information highways and R&D projects, such as the E-Science network and the Iliada project.
