Security Incident Response Center
At RNP, we play the role of ensuring the security of our network and connected institutions. To this end, we created the Security Incident Response Center – CAIS.
With over 20 years of experience, CAIS was one of the first security incident response groups to operate nationally in the detection, resolution and prevention of incidents throughout the academic network and its user institutions.

Access and check out the scams in circulation on the internet. There are more than 12 thousand samples available for check.
CSIRTs
We contribute to the development of security incident response groups in Brazil and Latin America.

General Director
Nelson Simões
Nelson Simões works as general director of RNP since 2002. He was a member of the Internet Managing Committee in Brazil, elected as a representative of the scientific and technological community between 2002 and 2010, and works in this position also at Cinemateca Brasileira and other organizations. He was director of the Latin American Advanced Network Cooperation (CLARA) from 2003 to 2014, the international organization responsible for the regional Latin American research network. He is a computer engineer by PUC-Rio and has a master´s degree in Communication Policies by Universidade de Brasília (UnB).
