Networked Cinemas discloses schedule of exhibitions for the first half of 2017
The Networked Cinemas project – a partnership between the Ministries of Culture (MinC) and Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC) with RNP - disclosed the dates of the movies schedule to be shown in the first half of 2017.
The first to open the season is the movie Olympia, by director Rodrigo Mac Niven. The session will be held on March 9, at 7:00 pm, in the cinema hall of the Fluminense Federal University, Cine Arte UFF. After the end of each movie, discussions will be held with the director and other guests. These discussions are broadcast to other non-commercial movie theaters by the Web Conference service.
The Networked Cinemas initiative has among its purpose to connect university cinemas and exhibitors to the network infrastructure operated by RNP, thus facilitating access and exchange of content for these rooms.
In 2017, seven new institutions joined the project: Cine Vila Rica (Ufop); Cine Aruanda (UFPB); Cine UFG; Cine Arte UFF; Cine UFPel; Cine UFSCar; Cine Metrópolis (Ufes). In addition to these, the initiative was maintained by Cinema da UFBA, Sala Redenção (UFRGS), Fundação Joaquim Nabuco (Fundaj), Cinemateca Brasileira and CineUSP.
