RNP participates in the 19th National Science and Technology Week

RNP was present at the 19th edition of the National Science and Technology Week (SNCT), held between 11/28 and 12/04. The event promoted annually by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) aims to mobilize the population, especially children and young people, around S&T themes and activities, valuing creativity, scientific attitude and innovation.  

On 11/30, director of Research, Development and Innovation at RNP, Iara Machado, participated in the seminar that presented the results of projects carried out with resources from Priority Programs of National Interest (PPI) within the scope of the new Information Technology Law - Law of ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies).  

Between 2021 and 2022, around BRL 1 billion was invested by the private sector in PPI projects established by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and partner institutions - including RNP. The director highlighted the importance of PPIs for the advancement of innovation in the country and presented some projects, such as 5G-in-a-box, 6g Brasil and OpenRAN@Brasil. The integrated service manager, Francisco Júnior, gave a lecture on Creativity and Innovation, and the senior business analyst, Larissa Marra, presented the Modular Curb project, the first product patented by RNP.  

"The event surprised me. With the lecture and the demonstration of the Modular Curb it was possible to contact several public sector actors to present the product and forward future conversations. In addition to conversations with other institutions linked to the MCTI about possible partnerships needed for improvements to the product”, reports Larissa. 

 In addition to the official program, the organization had a fun booth that received around 5,000 visitors during the week.
