Rute inaugurates three telemedicine units in Brazil

At this morning, Tuesday, 29/9, were inaugurated three new units of the Telemedicine University Network (Rute), a project coordinated by the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (RNP) and integrated into the Brazil Telehealth Network program. The beneficiaries were the Hospital Sarah Lago Norte - International Center for Neuroscience and Rehabilitation, in Brasília (DF); Health Policy Coordination of the Federal University of Labor Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and Hospital Santo Antonio of Social Work of Sister Dulce, in Salvador (BA).

The joint opening ceremony was broadcast by videoconference. The national coordinator of Rute, Luiz Ary Messina, that leaded the event, which started in the Hospital Santo Antonio, with the participation of the Superintendent of Sister Dulce Social Work and also niece of the holy blessed, Maria Rita Pontes. It was also be following the ceremony, the president of Sarah Network of Rehabilitation Hospitals, Lucia Willadino Braga, and the Technical and Executive Coordinator of Telehealth and Telemedicine Centers of UFRJ, Glaucia Silveira Castro.

With the next three inaugurations, Rute will have 118 inaugurated units in full operation, located in university and teaching hospitals in all states of Brazil. The network is integrated into the Telehealth Brazil Networks Programme, an initiative of the Ministry of Health that seeks to improve the quality of care and primary care and specialized in the Unified Health System (SUS), integrating teaching and service through information technology to promote the Telecare, the Tele-education, collaborative research, management, monitoring, monitoring and evaluation.
