The Federated Academic Community (CAFe) is a federated authentication infrastructure for Brazilian teaching and research institutions. With a single and reliable login, CAFe members can access advanced services and shared digital resources, national and international, in a secure and practical way.

>> First academic federation created in the country;
>> Among the five largest federations in the world in terms of number of clients;
>> Around 320 educational and research institutions clients;
>> More than 2,500 services, such as digital libraries, research platforms, educational software and other online services;
Advantages of being part of CAFe:
>> Integrated database of Brazilian teaching and research institutions;
>> Security and reliability in access in accordance with the LGPD (see our Privacy Policy);
>> Agreement with SheerID, an international company that negotiates the offering of services and products at a discount or free of charge to the academic community;
>> International collaboration with ReFEDS, which unites identity federations around the world; and with Géant, which enables, through the eduGAIN service, access to services outside the country;
>> Usage PolicyUsage Policy in compliance with global standards for identity federations such as: Metadata Registry Practice Statement (MPRS), R&S (Research and Education Federations Group) and the SIRTFI (Security Incident Response Trust Framework to Federated Identity), for response to security incidents.
How to join CAFe
If your institution is not yet part of CAFe, contact the IT department and suggest joining. Now, if you are the IT Manager, request membership through RNP's service channels.
