Connected North answers questions regarding the TR for contracting optical network installation services in the north of the Country
Last Thursday, 15, the website of the Connected North Program was updated to include answers to questions concerning the Reference Term for contracting underwater optical cable installation services and its associated infrastructures and the RFI for the Neutral Operator of Infopath 00.
The National Education and Research Network (RNP) published the terms of reference for contracting underwater optical cable installation services and its associated infrastructures (ADC/10097/2021 - access the TR) for the selection and contracting of a company, with the objective of ensuring the installation of an infrastructure based on optical fiber cables installed along the bed of rivers in the Amazon Region, connecting five municipalities in the area: Macapá/AP, Almeirim/PA, Monte Alegre/PA, Alenquer/PA, and Santarém/PA.
The TR determined a deadline for interested parties to present their questions for a better understanding, and 63 (sixty-three) questions were received. After analysis, RNP published the answers to all the questions. Access the answers here.
Understand
The Ministry of Communications (MCom), together with RNP, published, in February, a public consultation (access the RFI here) to help define the contracting model for a Neutral Operator (ON) to commercially exploit, operate, and maintain Infopath 00, which is being implemented by the organization as part of the Connected North Program. The massive participation of stakeholders brought many questions. Today, after extensive analysis, a document with the answers has been published and can be accessed here
