Enrollment Open for Young Researchers of GBIF 2020
Held by the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) annually, the Young Researchers award is guided to graduate students (master´s and Ph.D.), who work with GBIF Biodiversity data. The purpose is to encourage research and scientific innovation in the Biodiversity Information Technology area. Two projects will be selected at global level, one person with master´s degree and another one with Ph.D., and each one will receive a 5 thousand EURO award.
The proposals will be endorsed by the Brazilian GBIF center, the Brazilian Biodiversity Information System (SiBBr), a national biodiversity data platform coordinated by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC) and operated by the National Education and Research Network (RNP).
The interested people shall send the proposals written in English language until May 1, 2020 to e-mail: cgbi@mctic.gov.br. The proposals will be evaluated by the criteria of originality and innovation; use and strategic relevance of data accessed by GBIF´S network; and measurability and impact on the progress of informatics for biodiversity and/or presentation of the biological diversity.
