Federal government launches Digital Government Integrated Cybersecurity Center based on partnership between RNP and IDB
In partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the National Education and Research Network (RNP), the Digital Government Secretariat of the Ministry of Economy (SGD/ME) launched the Digital Government Cybersecurity Integrated Center (CISC GOV.BR). Its mission is to carry out the operational coordination of prevention, treatment and response actions to cyber incidents of the 238 federal agencies belonging to the Information Technology Resource Management System (Sisp). The Director of Engineering and Operations, Eduardo Grizendi, represented RNP at the launch ceremony.
CISC GOV.BR will promote the strengthening of the Federal Cyber Incident Management Network (ReGIC) and greater collaboration between SISP bodies. At the CISC GOV.BR portal , also launched this Wednesday, all Sisp bodies can now report cyber incidents, contributing to greater operational effectiveness in CISC GOV.BR actions and cyber security culture within Sisp.
CISC GOV.BR also provides assistance in the creation of prevention, treatment and response teams to cyber incidents in each Sisp body, as well as vulnerability analysis activities in government systems, intrusion tests, cyber threat intelligence activities, support in the treatment and response to cyber incidents, among others.
Operational coordination
CISC GOV.BR is characterized as a Prevention, Treatment and Response to Cybernetic Incidents Team (Etir) and acts at the operational coordination level, offering a series of services to its target audience, formed by Sisp bodies. CISC GOV.BR was established within the scope of the Privacy and Information Security Program (PPSI), which aims to raise the degree of maturity of personal data protection and information security actions in the bodies and entities that are part of Sisp.
The Integrated Center operates in a complementary manner to the Center for Prevention, Treatment and Response to Government Cybernetic Incidents (CTIR Gov) of the Institutional Security Office of the Presidency of the Republic. While the Digital Government Secretariat's CISC GOV.BR operationally coordinates the bodies that make up the Sisp, the CTIR GOV covers the entire Federal Public Administration.
Both CISC GOV.BR and CTIR Gov are part of the Federal Cyber Incident Management Network, whose purpose is to improve and maintain coordination between agencies and entities of the direct federal, autonomous and foundational public administration for the prevention, treatment and response to cyber incidents to raise the level of cybersecurity resiliency of its information assets.
