In September 2023, the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), one of the STIs selected in the public notice for incubation of research data repositories, supported in 2021 by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT) and the National Education and Research Network (RNP), completed the process and signed the Term of Adhesion of the CoNCiencia Consortium.

RNP, through the partnership with the GT-RDP (Research Data Network Working Group) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) provided knowledge transfer actions in order to allow UFC to build and promote its own research data repository and prepare it for joining the consortium.  

Joining the consortium establishes the bases for technical and operational cooperation necessary to promote Open Science at the institution, which has as one of its objectives to encourage the implementation of digital data repositories and the sharing of research data.
