A story full of psychological conflicts and a mysterious man who haunts the citizens of a village, taking them out of their quiet routines. This is the plot of the movie that will be screened in another session of the Networked Cinemas project. The feature film "The man that doesn't sleep" (O homem que não dormia, in Portuguese), by Edgar Navarro, will be presented at several universities in the country on November 1st.

The movie of the award-winning filmmaker, released in 2012 and winner of several awards such as the 44th Brasilia Film Festival and the 35th São Paulo International Film Festival, features elements that have marked the director's work since the super 8 movies performed in the 1970s. “This is a pretentious project written 30 years ago. I made several changes in the script to be sure of the right time to shoot”, says Navarro.

After the movie display, there will be a chat in the Cinema of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) with the director and screenwriter. The debate will be transmitted to the other rooms via web conference, by the MConf tool, which also performs the screening of the films. This is a cooperation between the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (RNP) and the Ministry of Culture (MinC) connecting university cinemas and exhibitors to the network infrastructure operated by RNP, thus facilitating the access and exchange of content for these rooms. The November 10 session integrates seven rooms: Cine UFPel, Cine Arte UFF, Cinemateca Brasileira, Cine Redenção (UFRGS), Cine Metrópolis (Ufes), UFBA Cinema and Cinusp (USP).
