“New solutions can emerge from anywhere”, says Robinson

Closing discussions on governance and leadership of the III RNP Forum, the founder of Holonomics Education, Simon Robinson, presented the concept of Holonomic Thinking, a methodology for holistic thinking employed in developing sustainable leadership.

“We help leaders to develop new mental models for them to implement new models for our reality”, he said. As a future scenario, he believes that in 2030 the world will be the stage of a new, more significant wave: the revolution in life sciences. “In the period of our lives, we can see genetically modified humans. We are at the moment we can change our evolution path”, he predicted.

In this context, the leaders will have to develop the skills of storytelling (storytelling), understanding rapidly-changing scenarios (sensemaking), paying full attention to the present moment (mindfulness), and humility. “When we are humble, we can value people, their contributions. New solutions can emerge from anywhere in the organization. This is something that the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital does very well”.

According to Robinson, “we have to engage everyone in our organization and not only use strategic maps. We want data and information to flow, which is a contradiction because our philosophy is to maintain control and stop the flow”.

He concluded arguing that managers should look at global trends and address the risks. “In order to create new opportunities, we must use the new storylines”, he posited.
