On October 21th, the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (RNP) will present the project Networked Cinemas at the 9th Brazilian Society of Cinema and Audiovisual Studies (Socine) Meeting from October 20th to 23th at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp).

The event will discuss the relationship between the cinema and the new information technologies. The organizers’ expectation is to address, for example, how the changes in film distribution affect the independent production scenarios.

"We will expose the activities already undertaken and planned by the Networked Cinemas project, as a result of the partnership between RNP and the Ministry of Culture. The idea is to provoke a debate on the feasibility and relevance of a buffer circuit based on public institutions of higher education in Brazil, "says the Culture Affairs manager, Alvaro Malaguti.
