After being carried out entirely online in the last three years, the RNP Workshop (WRNP) will once again be face-to-face in 2023. On May 22 and 23, the Royal Tulip Brasília hotel, in the federal capital, will host the event, which aims to strengthen ties between RNP and the teaching and research community in Brazil and abroad.

The workshop takes place at the Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (SBRC). Those interested in attending the WRNP can register through this link. The fee for in-person registration is R$ 235, valid for the two days of the event.

Researchers, IT professionals and other interested parties who cannot attend in person will be able to follow the live transmission of the main program for free. Just access the event website to register and select the “Online Only” option.

Held since 1999, WRNP is an annual event that gives participants the opportunity to learn about the main technological advances in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and also the most relevant topics being discussed in the area. The program consists of various lectures and demonstrations of product and service prototypes. The event still works as a communication channel between different organizations, companies, researchers and the government itself.

Among the main topics to be discussed at this year's RNP Workshop are:

- Artificial Intelligence: preparation of machines to interpret data and perform complex activities similar to a human;

- Web 3.0: set of technologies that bring an evolution in the access and use of the internet;

- OpenRan: movement whose objective is to democratize internet access;

- Self-Sovereign Identity: approach that aims to give the individual full control over their data and how they can be used and accessed in digital environments;

- Next Generation Network (NGN): set of technologies that brings evolutions in the architecture used in computer networks;

- Machine Learning: branch of artificial intelligence that prepares machines so that they can learn or improve their performance with data obtained by them even without having been programmed.
