RNP announces Themed Working Groups in Distance Learning chosen for the 2015-2016 cycle
On November 16, the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa - RNP) announced the two Themed Working Groups (WGs) in Distance Learning that will be coordinated by the organization in the 2015-2016 period. At such stage, confirmedly beginning on December 10 and which is to last for one year, the goal is to improve the results developed in the previous stage and deploy a pilot with certain partner institutions.
The Working Group in Mobile Remote Experimentation (GT-MRE), from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), aims to develop a remote experimentation system, integrated to mobile devices, that allows working with actual physical systems through the internet.
The Multiplatform and Open Networks Educational Resources (GT-Remar), from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), has as a goal to develop authoring and publishing tooling to build and adapt Open Educational Resources (OER), in web, mobile and desktop platforms.
Through the Themed Working Groups in Distance Learning, created in 2014, RNP works in partnership with the scientific community following the open innovation management system.
The Program is financed with funds from the Higher Education Personnel Improvement Coordination (Capes) and from the National Fund for Education Development (FNDE), by the Ministry of Education and the Secretary of Labor Management, and it is part of the R&D actions in the scope of RNP’s Interministerial Program.
