RNP closes partnership with FEEVALE within the scope of the INOVA-RS project
RNP signed a contract for the execution of R&D services with FEEVALE within the scope of the INOVA-RS project, financed by the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovations of Rio Grande do Sul (SECTI-RS). The project aims to develop an Identity Management service for the innovation environment of RS technology parks and should start to be executed in early 2023, with an expected duration of 9 months.
Promoted by the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation of Rio Grande do Sul, the INOVA-RS program was launched in August 2019 and aims to make the state a global reference in innovation as a local development strategy. The objective of the initiative is to create a Digital Identity for users of the innovation ecosystem in Rio Grande do Sul, enabling collaboration and sharing of different services within a federation composed of these actors in a safe environment. With their federated digital identity, entrepreneurs and other users will be able to easily prove who they are when accessing the federation's online services.
FEEVALE won the public notice from the Secretariat of Innovation of RS and will be responsible for contracting the project with RNP, which provides for the contribution with the co-creation, modeling, prototyping, implementation and assisted operation of a pilot of a federated identity management service, built based on state-of-the-art technology, which will integrate users of the different technology parks of the innovation ecosystem of Rio Grande do Sul into a single account, thus enabling the development of applications common to the ecosystem as a whole.
The federated digital identity will enable technology parks to better integrate the services offered to their users, as well as provide the Secretariat of Innovation, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul with a more accurate view of the state ecosystem as a whole. “This is an opportunity for the concept of Federation and federated identity management to be tried out in the innovation ecosystem of Rio Grande do Sul so that it can then be extended, with the support of ANPROTEC, to the other technology parks in Brazil”, says RNP's Director of Research, Development and Innovation, Iara Machado.
