RNP has delivered circuits with a capacity of 100 Mbps in several education and research institutions in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul at the end of January, in the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) and the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS), at the Healthcare campuses; the Farroupilha Federal Institute, at the campuses of São Vicente do Sul, Júlio de Castilhos and Jaguari; and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), at the university campus of Santa Vitória do Palmar and the Training and Events Centre in Gramado.

Thus, these locations were connected to the RNP Point of Presence in the state, in Porto Alegre, and consequently to the national academic network, in addition to having access to high speed internet. The delivery of the circuits is a result of RNP's partnership with BRDigital, Zona Sul and Vogel Telecom.

At IFFarroupilha, in Jaguari, one of the beneficiary campuses houses the Technological Centre of Chapadão, where activities are developed with focus on family agriculture, agroindustry, agroecology and tourism, and extension projects in viticulture and alcohol and cachaça production.

In UFRGS, the university centre of Santa Vitória do Palmar is located on the border with Uruguay, 500 km from Porto Alegre, where the undergraduate course in Planning and Management for Rural Development is offered, in the form of distance education. In all, there are 350 vacancies, distributed in eight municipal centres of in-person support, which belong to the Open University of Brazil (UAB) system, with the support of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes).
