RNP launches selection process for joint construction of Infovia Tocantins
The National Education and Research Network (RNP) has launched a call for qualification of providers for the joint construction, sharing, joint lighting, maintenance and exchange of the Tocantins Infovia. The delivery is part of the Conecta e Capacita Program, which foresees the construction of 18 information highways, totaling more than 40 thousand kilometers of optical fiber throughout the national territory. This Wednesday (3/20), at 2 pm, a workshop will be organized with providers interested in answering questions about the process. The deadline for submitting proposals is April 11.
Infovia Tocantins will cover seven municipalities in the state with around 1,000 km of optical fiber. The expectation is to serve 14 campuses of institutions connected to RNP, with potential for new high-speed connections for six campuses of state education and research institutions, as well as teaching hospitals, schools, technology parks and Wi-Fi points in public places.
The process calls on partner providers and suppliers for the joint construction, sharing, joint lighting, maintenance and exchange, partial or total, of active or passive optical access networks (using xPON technology), metropolitan and long-distance optical networks and also exchanges of capacity and optical channels in long-distance networks.
The process may also include direct service to teaching and research institutions connected to RNP, through dark fibers or xPON optical ports, used by RNP in the state of Tocantins.
