This Thursday (6/30), at 2 pm, the Interinstitutional Group for Connectivity in Education (GICE) will hold its launch event, called “Ideal Internet at School”, with a live broadcast on the NIC.Br YouTube channel.

At the event, the technical note “What is the ideal internet speed for my school?” will be publicized, aiming to support managers when choosing internet plans for public schools in the country.

The document was coordinated by the Center for Studies and Research in Network Technology and Operations of the Information and Coordination Center of Ponto BR (Ceptro.br|NIC.br), by the company MegaEdu, by the Women of Brazil Group (GMB) and by the Center of Innovation for Brazilian Education (CIEB).

RNP participated in the preparation of the technical note, which also involved the following partner institutions: Intelbras, Sincroniza Educação, Consortium for Innovation in Public Management (CIGA), Instituto Cordial, Instituto Articule, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Fundação Lemann.

The event is organized by the four institutions that coordinate the publication, and will have the participation of: Nathalia Foditsch, from the Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI); Raquel Costa and Thalles Gomes (CIEB); Flávio Prol and Beatriz Rodrigues (MegaEdu); Marise de Sá de Luca and Magali Severo (Grupo Mulheres do Brasil - GMB); Gabriela Marin, contributor to NIC.br; Solimary García and Cristiane Millán, from NIC.br.

About the project

The Interinstitutional Group on Connectivity in Education (GICE) is formed by more than 20 institutions, including government agencies, operators, provider associations, technology companies, institutes and third sector organizations.

One of the group's main deliverables is the Map of Connectivity in Education, a joint initiative of NIC.br and CIEB which, with the contribution of GICE, seeks to bring together different databases to support connectivity policies for Brazilian public education.
