It has just been renewed the mandate of RNP in the NRENum.net governance committee, global service for voice and video communication, maintained by Géant (gigabit pan-European research) for the academic community. The goal is to leverage the calls in VoIP and increase integration between the continents.

Composed of six representatives of the regions where service is available, the Global Governance NRENum.net Comittee (GNGC) is the strategic body of the highest level of the European initiative, which brings together more than 35 academic networks worldwide.

Since 2012, RNP participates in NRENum.net with the service fone @ RNP. The organization was the first academic network outside Europe to join the initiative and is represented on the committee by the expert in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Alex Galhano (picture), which renewed for another two years, his term as representative of the Americas, along with Ben Fineman , Internet2 (USA).
