The National Education and Research Network (RNP) was part of the Information and Communication Technology Workshop for the Federal Institutions of Higher Education in Brazil (WTICIFES), held on July 5th, 6th and 7th. In its 14th edition, the event is promoted by the College of Communication Technology Managers (CGTIC) and is a space that brings together subjects of interest to Federal Institutions of Higher Education (Ifes), mostly the 69 federal universities in Brazil.

This year, the event was held in Aracaju, at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) with the theme “ICTs as a support axis of the Ifes strategy”. Governance, process management, cybersecurity, privacy and adaptation to legislation and digital transformation were some of the topics covered.

On 7/6, RNP's Director of Services and Solutions, Antônio Carlos F. Nunes, participated in the panel “Connectivity in Brazil and the construction of shared information systems”, alongside Gustavo Balduíno, from the National Association of Directors of Federal Institutions Higher Education (Andifes), moderated by Teresa Maciel, from CGTIC.

The RNP Point of Presence team in Bahia (PoP-BA) had an article approved for the Management and Governance session, on 7/7, and presented the experience of how the strategic decision to host a network operation center at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) brought positive developments.
