The World Health Organization (WHO) Director of the Knowledge, Ethics and Research Department Najeeb Al-Shorbaji visited the Brazilian Company of Hospital Services (Ebserh) and the RNP unit in Brasilia, where he was received by the General Director Nelson Simões. Najeeb was in Brasília to participate on the III RNP Forum, held between September 2 and 4.

The executive congratulated our organization for the coordination work conducted with the University Telemedicine Network (Rute), an initiative that has surpassed the mark of 100 telemedicine units operating throughout Brazil.  “RNP gathered many Brazilians institutions to work in a constructive manner, using the ITC to offer the medical attention and care for people who live in remote areas”, Najeeb praised.

During the director visit to Brazil, the Rute’s National Coordinator Luiz Ary Messina was his tour guide. They shared their knowledge regarding the e-Health area. “My interest is to see telemedicine and other communication technologies contributing for the Universal Health Coverage, whose goal is to ensure that every person has access to the health services they need”, Najeeb said, after receiving details about the work done by Rute in the country.
