WRNP Discusses Telemedicine Advancement and Neutral Chip Innovation
The fight against the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the relevance of telehealth to increase the capacity and quality of care, in addition to training professionals and monitoring public health. At WRNP 2022, the topic will be discussed in the panel “Telemedicine in Brazil: the digital transformation in health”, on Monday (23), at 12 pm.
The session will present an overview of the use of telehealth both on the supply side of establishments and on the demand side of patients. Luciana Portilho, PhD in economic development from Unicamp and coordinator of the ICT Health research, will address trends in the adoption and use of telehealth, in addition to pointing out some challenges that persist in the area through the results of the ICT Health 2021 and Covid-19 ICT Panel research. The lecture is mediated by Paulo Lopes, a doctor of science from Unifesp and a health specialist at the National Education and Research Network (RNP).
Another current topic highlighted in the WRNP is the neutral chip. This new technology is a paradigm shift in telecommunications because it proposes a major turning point in the provision of connectivity services. The panel “Neutral Chip and its Opportunities”, on Monday (23), at 5:30 pm, will debate the impacts and possibilities that this technology offers for education and research.
“We understand that we are facing a paradigm shift and we want to discuss with the public the use of this resource in education and research, its impacts and opportunities”, explained Iara Machado, Director of Research, Development and Innovation at RNP.
Moderated by Samuel Possebon, editorial director of Teletime News, the debate brings together representatives from different institutions: Antônio Carlos Nunes, director of services and solutions at RNP; Aldebaro Klautau, professor at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA); Pedro Lucas da Cruz Pereira Araújo, investment and innovation director at the Ministry of Communications (MCOM); and Vitor Menezes, director of international relations at Ligga Telecom.
