Information System about the Brazilian Biodiversity (SiBBr)
Know the richness of our biomes and species
The Information System about the Brazilian Biodiversity (SiBBr) is an online platform that integrates biodiversity and ecosystem data from diverse sources in Brazil and abroad.
The platform is an initiative of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC) and was considered the first step for Brazil to consolidate a national biodiversity data and content infrastructure.

Testimony
“RNP, together with the LNCC (National Laboratory for Scientific Computing), has been and continues to be the foundation of SiBBr, giving us the basic conditions to maintain the excellent information technology infrastructure that is being implemented.”
Andrea Portela
SiBBr Director General
“It is a milestone for science in Brazil and for the bioeconomy. Making this data available is critical not only for economically developing the country — based on the sustainability of our resources — but also for preservation. From a collective construction, we have achieved a great result. ”
Marcelo Morales
MCTIC Secretary for Training Policies and Strategic Areas
“We understand the importance and dimensions of this project by gathering in one place all of this critical information for public policy development, decision making, training and transparency.”
