RNP highlights Conecta Rede offers during Forti and new institutions join the program
RNP was present at the Information and Communication Technology Managers Forum (Forti), held on March 12 and 13, in Brasília, to reinforce the benefits of the Conecta Rede Program's offerings and also present the first indicators of the initiative, developed in partnership with the Secretariat of Professional and Technological Education (Setec) with the objective of leveraging digital transformation in the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education.
Among the various program offerings announced at the event, the Moodle and Backup services stood out in terms of interest from institutions. During the two days of the meeting, nine Federal Institutes joined Backup, increasing the number of adhesions from 26 to 38, reaching 95% of the network's adhesion (there are 41 FIs in total). Moodle gained one more adhesion, reaching 23 in total, and another two were on track.
According to Roosevelt Benvindo, Solutions Manager responsible for the ConectaRede Program, participation in Forti is very important for RNP, “as it allows us to assess the compatibility of the Conecta Rede Program with the requirements of the institutions’ IT managers. In addition, it enables active listening to identify new demands and emerging needs for innovation, making the initiative a catalyst for digital transformation in the Federal Network.”
Security and privacy support
In the work of diagnosing the needs of FIs carried out by the program, the demand for consultancy support in Information Security and Privacy was identified so that institutions can develop maturity and compliance with the Privacy and Information Security Program (PPSI of SGD/MGI). To meet this need, RNP included a new service in Conecta Rede.
“A Pilot Work Plan was developed that will contribute to the improvement and compliance of institutions, in which 16 Complementary Policies or Standards and two Information Security Processes customized for the institutions will be drawn up. As part of this strategy, Conecta Rede's technical council will be responsible for prioritizing the institutions that will be served in the first phase of the pilot, thus allowing the analysis and possibility of scaling the provision of the service in a gradual and secure manner”, says RNP's Information Security and Privacy coordinator, Rodrigo Facio.
Presentations in the schedule
On the first day of Forti, RNP had a space in the program to present Colocation services at the National Data Center (CND), an important demand to support the structuring of infrastructure for Setec. The following day, cybersecurity-related services within the scope of RNP's Security Operations Center (SOC) were highlighted.
Educational Consulting Workshop
On March 14th and 15th, the first workshop of the Educational Consulting service was held, offered by the Escola Superior de Redes (ESR), within the scope of Conecta Rede. The meeting's main objective was to present and map the profile of operations functions and discuss the current dynamics of the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) area, especially in relation to Federal Institutes. During the activities, topics such as SFIA (Skills Framework for the Information Age), OPS (Operations) profiles and levels of responsibility were addressed, aiming to identify and define relevant skills for each profile in a generic way to meet the demands of the institutions. Eighteen civil servants representing FIs, ESR consultants and RNP collaborators participated.
